Intermediate Exploration of Liquid Latex class. This course will cover 5 intermediate and large scale special effects makeup techniques using primarily Liquid Latex. This course is an extension to our SFX I course. In this class, we spend less time on introductory techniques and we move on to further expand on our skills.
***PLEASE REVIEW THE REQUIRED MATERIALS LIST FOR THIS CLASS! (Located at the bottom of this page) Students must purchase/ have the proper materials in order to get the full experience and to participate! ******
*PLEASE NOTE – this class meets one day a week for four weeks via zoom. Zoom link will be emailed to the account associated to your Paypal receipt.
Day 1: Cookie Cut Out!
For this lesson, students will create a “cut out” wound using a template of whatever type of shape they prefer – heart, triangle, cookie shape, you name it! During this time, we will dive into painting the human muscular system to enhance the “realism” of our wound.
Day 2: Bald Caps & Brains!
No SFX course would be complete without attempting to apply a bald cap! For this class, we will apply half of a bald cap to our heads and then create an “exposed brain” makeup using liquid latex and cotton. Students love to see how far they can take this makeup!
Day 3: Muted Mouth
A surprisingly easy look for something that creates a great SFX makeup! With this look, we will create the idea that our lips are completely washed away and replaced by “rips” in the skin. All using a combination of liquid latex and tissue paper.
Day 4: Forgot the Sunscreen!
In this class, we will experiment with creating a burned and blistered look.
Day 5: Frostbite
Using all of the techniques covered in the course, students will experiment with turning their faces into frost bitten messes. From blotchy cheeks to runny noses, cracking lips to frosty lashes, students will love using their face and arms as a canvas for this last project.
This class is inclusive of all learners and makeup instruction will be considerate of all genders and skin tones.
Enrollment in this course means Halloween is now all year round!
